1999 Biennial Retreat - Stowe, VT
1999 Fall NCoGS Working Conference
Thursday October 21 through Sun October 24, 1999
Greetings to ALL NCoGS Members and interested parties!
Following our successful summer programs, we now look forward to the '99 off-year, smaller, organizational meeting and workshop of the National Conference of Governors' Schools (NCoGS). It will be at the Topnotch in Stowe, Vermont, with the next full blown NCoGS Conference in Greenville, SC, in 2000.
This year's meeting (October 21-October 24, 1999) will feature a two day workshop (Friday and Saturday) with a paid consultant (Larisa Turner who has worked with the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences) on evaluation of GS programs. Attendees will work together to uncover what do all GS programs need and want to know about the workings of their programs. How can we find out what works, prove that it works, and improve the programs?
One goal is to design evaluation systems that could work across all programs to give a national basis of evaluation. Attendees should bring copies (about 40) for distribution and discussion of professional evaluations, current in house forms, and current evaluation reports.
The NCoGS board members will also be planning the future direction of the NCoGS. Thus, NCoGS Members and those most closely involved with evaluation of the GS programs of each state should attend. Please make sure that any other NCoGS Members in your state receive notification of this announcement.
