2025 Conference
New Orleans, Louisiana - October 9th-12th, 2025
The registration link for the conference is:

Our host hotel is the Embassy Suites, New Orleans, located in the heart of the Warehouse District of New Orleans. This centrally located hotel offers all of the amenities that we will need to have a great conference and is close to our main extracurricular activity - a special visit and tour at the National WWII Museum. It is also very close to the French Quarter and other New Orleans attractions. The special conference rate of $249 per night can be booked using this link:

You may also call the hotel directly to book, make sure that you mention the group, National Conference of Governor's Schools. The number is: +1 504 525 1993.
Please book no later than September 18th, 2025.
Some topics we are planning to discuss / address:
- Med Call - how does your program handle medicine dispensation / record keeping / sick call, etc.? What are some best practices we can implement, what are the challenges?
- AI - creeping into every aspect of our lives, Governor's Schools are no exception, especially with application essays and other materials before we even meet our students. On the flip side - how can we (and should we!) leverage AI to better serve our students, missions and goals?
- RAs / Counselors / however you call them. Probably the staff we depend on the most without thinking about it, until there's a problem. Many programs are mentioning that it's becoming more and more difficult to find and hire these essential members of our staffs - and then, how do we train them in such a limited amount of time?
- Mini Grant Reports - we awarded three mini grants to member programs for this past summer and they will share with us how those grants were used.
- If you haven't looked at the registration link yet, I'd also like to make sure you know about our Friday afternoon planned "extracurricular" activity - an Historian guided content dive and tour of the National WWII Museum.
We still have room for one or two more presentations or sessions so if you have any ideas or topics that you would like to present or see discussed, please let us know once you register for the conference.
