The Virginia Governor's School for Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts at the University of Richmond has agreed to host the 2005 Biennial Working Retreat of the National Conference of Governor's Schools. Lodging
  • The Retreat Hotel is the Crowne Plaza Hotel RICHMOND WEST (formerly Holiday Inn) Richmond at I-64 and Broad Street: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c/1/en/hd/ricbs
  • Reservations may be made by calling the hotel directly (804-285-9951). Be sure the mention National Conference of Governor's School when making the reservation.
  • The conference rate is $59 (+ applicable taxes) per room per night. Rooms are reserved at the conference rate until September 6, 2005.

Transportation
  • Fly into Richmond International Airport (RIC). The airport offers service by American Airlines, Delta, US Airways, Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and United.
  • The Virginia Governor's School will provide complimentary transportation to and from Richmond International Airport on October 6, 8, and 9. You must contact the Governor's School office at [email protected] or 804-289-8945 to request transportation.

Fees and Registration
  • For those who wish to renew or initiate NCoGS membership (includes $75 NCoGS dues payment):
    • Early Bird: $200 (postmarked by August 1)
    • Pre-Registration: $225 (postmarked by September 6)
    • After September 6: $250.
  • For participants who do not wish to become a member of NCoGS (does not include $75 dues payment):
    • Early Bird: $175 (postmarked by August 1)
    • Pre-Registration: $200 (postmarked by September 6)
    • After September 6: $225.
The conference fee includes a wine and cheese reception on October 6, continental breakfast and lunch each day, and dinner on October 6 and 7. An optional dinner on October 8 at downtown Richmond's Café Gutenberg is not included.
