Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!
We’re returning to the Big Easy for our 2013 annual meeting, October 3-5, 2013. Our host in 2013 is the Louisiana Governor’s Program for Gifted Children (GPGC) and its director, Josh Brown.
Important Update
The deadline for booking a room at conference rate was September 3, 2013. This deadline cannot be extended. Please register and apply for membership as soon as possible. Review hotel details below for non-conference rate booking.
Conference Registration and Annual Membership
$175 for members with membership ($75 for first two from your state). Complete conference registration and membership application online! Register by September 3, 2013. Submit your membership application before registering for the conference. Submit payment for each to the address posted on each application. If you wish to pay by credit card, please call Josh Brown at (337) 540-7280.
Conference Hotel
Book online for the Hampton Inn and Suites ($125/night). You can also call 866-311-1200; request the group National Conference of Governor’s Schools (coded NCG in the system). Book your room by September 3, 2013. The hotel is about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter. If you are planning on visiting the French Quarter during or after the conference please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about getting there and back. The Hampton Inn also has a very nice concierge service that should be able to help you.

Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY) is served by all major airlines. We have secured a discounted rate for the airport shuttle. The round-trip cost for the shuttle is $35 (about the cost of a one-way trip in a cab). Follow this link to get the discounted rate. Please be aware that this shuttle serves most of the hotels in the downtown area – it is possible that it will stop several times on the way to the Hampton. Parking is available at the hotel. Conference venues and entertainment are within a half mile of the hotel – please note on the registration form if you are unable to walk long distances. Vans will be available for transportation as needed.
