In the GIV Arts Institute, students can amplify their artistic voice and join a community of young artists from all over Vermont for an exciting two weeks of collaboration, creation, and inspiration. Students develop skills in the artistic disciplines of their choice alongside fellow creators who share a passion for art and creative thinking! With immersions into theater, music, writing, visual arts and more, there’s something for everyone at the Arts Institute!

In the GIV Entrepreneurship Institute, students bring their passion and curiosity with a week-long dive into the creativity and innovation that goes into developing new products and services. With the guidance of proven entrepreneurs and experts, plus a network of peers, students leverage their own unique business ideas to propel our ideas into future success.

In the GIV Engineering Institute, students help create a sustainable future through a week-long program on Norwich University’s campus developing their own projects in fields like energy, robotics, and structural engineering. Students work to create resilient solutions to the planet’s most pressing problems. With access to professional equipment and the guidance of renowned engineers, students build bridges to a better future!

Environmental Science & Technology

In the GIV Environmental Science & Technology Institute, students investigate what’s in our air, water, and soil. Focused on adventure and real-world exploration, students collect environmental data from their own community and bring those samples to UVM's campus to analyze, interpret, and explore the data. Combined with immersions and investigations within the campus community, the ESAT Institute is about explorations and solutions.

In the GIV Global Issues and Youth Action Institute, students take on political, environmental, and social justice issues. Students create a community of motivated young Vermonters and learn how to work together and battle for the things we most care about, whether it be the climate crises, racism, sexism, and more. Together, we mobilize our collective will with activists from around the world, leading movements for real change and deepening our hope with action.

Health & Medicine Institute

In the GIV Health and Medicine Institute, students step into the world of health care in a real-world way! Students spend a week diving into hands-on medical and health science skills, exploring topics like emergency and sports medicine, neuroscience and psychology, and biomedical engineering and lab science. Students lead their own lab work, participate in crisis simulations, and sample a huge array of health care occupations with practicing health professionals and medical students.

In the GIV Mathematical Sciences Institute, students surround themselves with fellow math-lovers and work together to explore theoretical and real-world applications of mathematics. Using new knowledge bases and student perspectives, the Institute works to take on world-class challenges and explore applications of mathematics and more. Students enjoy advanced lectures, discover exciting careers, and revel in all the things that make math so much fun!

In the GIV Technology and Design Institute, students dive into game design, 3D modeling, graphic design, and programming. Student technology enthusiasts spend a week in state-of-the-art computer labs exploring with industry-standard software and hardware to create projects, art pieces, and more. Students work alongside tech world professionals and a whole host of young designers and programmers to explore the tools of the future.
